COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective Examine classroom management in terms of structure, system, process, teaching and discipline. To have basic knowledge and skills about effective classroom management. Examine classroom management problems in order to bring a critical perspective to classroom management strategies. To raise awareness about the importance of teacher-parent relationship in providing effective educational process.
Course Content Basic concepts of classroom management; physical, social and psychological dimensions of the class; class rules and discipline in the classroom; models related to class discipline and management; management of student behavior in classroom, communication and interaction process in classroom; student motivation in the classroom; time management in the classroom; teacher as a teaching leader in the classroom; management of teacher-parent negotiations; creation of positive classroom and learning climate; case studies related to classroom management according to school levels.
