COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective	To provide the necessary knowledge and experience about udder health and control to veterinary technicians who will work in dairy production enterprises.
Course Content	Anatomy and physiology of the udder, immune system of the udder, mastitis, milking hygiene and milking parlor management, drying of cows, the importance of the dry period and dry period management, the importance of udder diseases in dairy farms and the economic losses they cause.
Prerequisites	No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite	No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery	Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

1	Knows the anatomy and physiology of the mammary gland in domestic animals.
2	Knows breast examination methods and diagnosis of the disease.
3	Technique, use and hygiene of milking machines, udder knows the effect on health.
4	Have knowledge about mastitis control programmes to increase cow milk yield.
