Course Objective The students will gain the necessary knowledge and skills in domestic animal physiology to perform in clinical applications.
Course Content Structure of blood • Plasma • Blood cells Collection of blood samples; • Anticoagulants • Blood collection tubes Hematological analysis of samples • Complete blood count • Abbreviations on hemogram Evaluation of leukocyte response in diseases • Monocytosis and monocytopenia • Lymphocytosis and lymphopenia • Neutrophilia and neutropenia • Eosinophilia and eosinopenia • Basophilia • Species-specific examination of leukocyte response Control of blood vessels and vascular system; blood pressure and regulation Muscle energy metabolism Hypothalamus hormones, pituitary hormones, thyroid hormones Parathyroid hormones, pancreatic hormones, adrenal hormone hormones, pineal gland hormones and local hormones Urine formation and regulatory mechanisms, urination and control, excretory system Transport of respiratory gases, acid-base balance, hypoxia and cyanosis General characteristics of circulatory system; his work and blood pumping of the heart; control of heart activity

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Recognize the cardiovascular system, the blood circulation and regulation mechanisms.
2To have information about the physiology of metabolic process in the body
3Learn about the interpretation of hematological parameters
4Learn about the physiological effects of hormones and understand the effects of hormones on different systems
5To have knowledge about the physiological functioning of urinary system and interpret interactions between urinary and other systems.
6To have knowledge about the physiological functioning of the respiratory system and the interaction between respiratory and other systems
