General Information

Histology and Embryology MSc programme (with thesis): The aims of the program:To train students who has got education in human histology and embryology and who has got experience in histological and embryological methods, general and specific laboratory applications and multidisciplinary studies. The students who has completed at least 28 credits and who has prepared graduation thesis and passed the scientific exam gain the right of graduation for “Histology and Embryology Sicence Expert”. Main research areas: - Human Embryology - General Histology - Urogenital System development and histology - Nervous system development and histology - Stereology - Experiment animals and model systems - Stem cells (Embrionic Stem cells, Mesenchymal stem cells) - Cell and tissue culture - Molecular embryological and histological techniques


Objective

The aims of the programme: To train students who has got education in human histology and embryology and who has got experience in histological and embryological methods, general and specific laboratory applications and multidisciplinary studies. To have knowledge about the processes performed to make an organ, tissue, cell or structures seen in the human body visible under the microscope. 2. To know the human body at the microscopic level. 3. To examine cells, tissues, systems structurally. 4. To examine prenatal and postnatal development. 5. To examine the detailed development of organ systems. 6. To have knowledge about congenital malformations. 7. To obtain theoretical and applied information about Assisted Reproductive Systems. 8. To obtain theoretical and applied information about general and special laboratory applications. 9. To be able to use advanced theoretical and applied knowledge in the fields of histology and embryology. 10. To be able to examine the concepts and ideas in the fields of histology and embryology with the scientific methods required by modern medicine, to be able to interpret and evaluate the data, to define and analyze the problems that require expertise, and to develop solutions based on evidence and research. 11. To be able to create new knowledge by integrating the knowledge in the fields of histology and embryology with the knowledge from different disciplines. 12. To be able to critically evaluate the knowledge and skills acquired in the fields of histology and embryology, to identify learning needs, to direct his learning and to carry out advanced studies independently. 13. To be able to share their thoughts and solutions to problems with experts and non-experts by supporting them with quantitative and qualitative data. 14. To be able to follow the information in the field and communicate with colleagues by using a foreign language. 15. To be able to use information and communication technologies together with computer software at the level required by the field. 16. To be able to apply the knowledge and problem-solving skills they have internalized in their field in interdisciplinary studies. 17. To be able to use the devices in histology and embryology laboratories effectively.
