Course Objective Examining the theories of new media and communication.
Course Content In this course, theoretical studies on new media will be discussed, including thinkers who produce predictive theoretical knowledge that can be read in the context of new media, such as Mcluhan, Virilio and Castells, and current new media theorists such as Manovich, Jenkins, Levy, Poster and Fuch. These theorists will be examined within the framework of the following concepts: McLuhan and the Global Village; Virilio and Accelerated Truth, the Information Bomb; Castells and the Network Society; Lev Manovich and Digital Culture; Henry Jenkins and the Culture of Convergence, Digital Renaissance; Peter Levy and Cyber ​​Culture, Collective Intelligence; Mark Poster and the Superpanopticon; A Critical Look at Christian Fuchs and Social Media, Marx in the Information Age.
