Course Objective To inform students about basic Plant Biotechnology protocols (Tissue Culture and Genetic Engineering), to reveal the importance of plant tissue cultures in agriculture, to teach about tissue culture methods used for plant breeding, cultivation, and commercial production, and about GMOs and their usage areas.
Course Content To be able to comprehend the importance of recombinant DNA technology in agricultural production, To have information about isolating and multiplying the genes that control the economically important features and to offer solutions to the problems, To obtain information about genetic markers used in biotechnology and to apply the acquired knowledge to genetic studies, To learn transgenic plant development methods and to convert them into transgenic be able to use it in projects for variety development.
