Course Objective The place and importance of fiber plants in industrial plants, cotton, flax, hemp, jute, ramie, hibiscus, sisal, and manila hemp, the importance of loofah plants, plant characteristics and cultivation.
Course Content Definition of fiber and classification of fiber plants, Use of cotton, history, cultivation, yield, import and export throughout the world and country, Taxonomy of cotton, types, genomic structures and botanical characteristics and laboratory studies, Soil and climate requirements of cotton, Planting, care, fertilization in cotton , irrigation, Cotton diseases and pests and harvesting, Seed and fiber properties and laboratory studies, Ginning, ginning systems and storage in seed cotton, Standardization and laboratory studies in cotton, Cotton breeding and seed production, Herbal characteristics and cultivation and cultural processes of flax plant, harvesting and flax fiber properties, the introduction, cultivation and fiber properties of hemp, hemp and other fiber plants will be explained.
