Course Objective To introduce the types of fruits, vegetables, vineyards, and ornamental plants included in Horticulture and to teach brief information about their cultivation.
Course Content Definition, importance, classification of fruit, vegetable and ornamental plants and vineyards within the scope of horticultural plants, Biological characteristics of horticultural plants, flower structure, pollination and fertilization status, Biological characteristics of horticultural plants, flower structure, pollination and fertilization, Sexual incompatibilities in fruit trees , Climate requirements of horticultural plants, Soil requirements of horticultural plants, Examination of important fruit and vegetable species in terms of ecological demands, Generative propagation method and its application in horticultural plants, Vegetative propagation methods and applications in horticultural plants, Orchard and vineyard plant, Vegetable garden plant, Important cut flower Introduction and cultivation of indoor and indoor ornamental plants. General information about some outdoor ornamental plants will be explained.
