Course Objective Pests, diseases, and weeds that cause crop losses in cultivated plants; Diagnosis, biology, determination of damage patterns, protection of cultivated plants from these factors, and control methods and information about pests
Course Content Understanding the birth, development and current importance of phytopathology, Recognizing the science of symptomatology and plant disease symptoms, Recognizing the science of etiology and plant disease factors, Monitoring the pathology, plant disease event and the annual course of disease in plants, Recognizing the plant disease epidemic and the emergence conditions of plant epidemics in plants. , To learn the basic principles of control of plant diseases and to know which plant diseases each control method is applied, to know the genetic and abiotic plant diseases that are frequently encountered in Turkey with examples, the presence, symptoms, characteristics of the pathogen, the course of the disease and To have information about the control of prokaryotic plant diseases for plant production in Turkey, to have information about the presence, symptoms, characteristics of the pathogen, disease course and control, parasitic plants important for plant production in Turkey; To have information about the presence of mistletoe, dodder and bumblebee, symptoms, characteristics of the pathogen, disease course and control, to have information about the presence of important viral diseases for herbal production in Turkey, symptoms, characteristics of the pathogen, disease course and control, general characteristics of the Arthropoda branch , classification, External organs in head, thorax and abdomen in insects, Structure and function of internal organs (digestion, nerve, excretory, circulation, emotion, reproduction, voice) in insects, Reproduction patterns in insects, embryo development, larva types, metamorphosis in insects, pupa types, Insect ecology, biotic and abiotic factors; Insect groups and their characteristics, Insect control methods, history of weed science, weed concept, biological and ecological characteristics of weeds, methods of controlling weeds will be explained.
