Course Objective This course aims at provide knowledge the students on farmstead planning and design; rural settlements planning of several livestock production facilities; planning and design principles of feed and manure storage structures; importance of irrigation and its necessity; water-yield relationships; soil-water-plant relationships; evapotranspiration; irrigation interval and amount of irrigation water; irrigation water quality; irrigation methods.
Course Content Rural Settlements, Infrastructure Problems, Land Consolidation, Structures and Planning in Agricultural Enterprises, Environmental Conditions in Agricultural Structures, Animal Production Structures, Crop Production Structures, Definition and Application Areas of Irrigation - Water Resources and Irrigation Management, Soil Plant Water Relations, Irrigation Systems, Irrigation Methods - Surface Irrigation Methods, Irrigation Methods - Pressurized Irrigation Methods, Hydraulics and Hydrology, Agricultural drainage, importance, benefits, problems, drainage methods, Irrigation Water Quality and Problematic Soils
