COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective	The aim of the course is to teach apple, pear, quince, persimmon cultivation and production of pome fruit species grown in Turkey.
Course Content	In this course, in which apple and pear are in the first degree, quince, hawthorn and medlar are in the second degree, culture history, systematics, summer, autumn and winter varieties, morphology, physiology, fertilization biology, ecological requirements of the species, Cultivation regions in Turkey, cultivation techniques (propagation, rootstocks) nursery, grafting, shaping trees, special pruning techniques, dense planting in dwarf seedlings, harvesting, yield, production and export issues are examined.
Prerequisites	No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite	No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery	Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

1	Learns the cultural history and development of pome fruit species. learns production, export and import values.
2	Knows its place in systematics and pomological classification, morphological and biological characteristics, fertilization biology.
3	Learns ecological requirements, reproduction, garden establishment, cultural practices, harvesting.
