This course discusses the meaning, nature, and categories of values in general terms, and presents a sample of theories on values education, its historical background, and legal basis in the world. It provides different strategies used in values education.

1 Personal Values and Experiences 2 The Meaning and Nature of Values 3 Classification of Values 4 The Valuing Process 5 Definition of Terms: values education, values development, values clarification, character education 6 Theories and Proponents: Freud, Piaget, Bandura, Kohlberg 7 Core Values 8 The Typology of Values Education Aproaches 9 Models of values education 10 Kohlberg's Stages of Moral Development 11 Values and plurality 12 Tolerance and its education as a core value 13 Value orientations and education of gifted children 14 Role and importance of values in coping with loses and death
