COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Associate's Degree

Course Objective Students of biomedical device failure detection and resolution, and to give a biochemical perspective using theoretical knowledge learned through a biochemical mechanisms ensure that employees are able to design a new biomedical devices.
Course Content Introduction to Biochemistry  Structure and functions of biomolecules (Amino acids, peptides, proteins, enzymes, coenzymes, vitamins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, lipids)  Protein synthesis  Introduction to Metabolism  Protein and amino acid metabolism  Oxidative decarboxylation, and citrate cycle  Carbohydrate metabolism; glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, the pentose phosphate cycle, calvin cycle  Glycogen Metabolism; glycogenesis and glycogenolysis  Lipid chemistry and metabolism; Biosynthesis of fatty acid oxidation of membrane lipids, cholesterol and sterol metabolism  Respiratory chain, oxidative phosphorylation and electron transport  Biological membranes and cellular transport
