2173 MUSIC EDUCATION PhD

GENERAL INFORMATION
In the program, doctorate education consisting of education, scientific research and art applications activities is given. The program is open to students who complete a master's program in music education with a thesis. An in-depth education is given about the methods, theories and practices used in Music Education.

Objective
The main purpose of this program is to develop the theoretical and practical skills of the students and receive the DR title in the field of Music Education. The student is provided with the ability to access, evaluate, interpret and share information by conducting research in the field.


Admission Requirements
First cycle degree, acceptable score on standardized graduate entrance exam, placement through local oral/written exam and certificate of English proficiency.

Graduation Requirements
In order for a student to successfully graduate from the program; Having taken at least 90 ECTS with a total of 9 (3 Compulsory and 6 Elective Courses) and 2 Doctoral Seminars, being successful in 20 ECTS Proficiency Exam and 10 ECTS Thesis Proposal Preparation and Proficiency Exam, 80 ECTS Thesis Studies and 40 ECTS He has to complete 240 ECTS in total by taking the Specialization Course and successfully defend his dissertation.

Career Opportunties
Graduates of this program can pursue various career options such as becoming a music trainer at public and private schools, at universities, and art trainer in public and private institutions, and work at different departments at TRT with various responsibilities, and become and artist or executive at art institutions under the ministry of education.

Recognition of Prior Learning
A successful student who has completed at least one semester in another institution / department of the university or another post-graduate program of another higher education institution may be admitted to the post-graduate programs by horizontal transfer. The conditions for acceptance by horizontal transfer are determined by the Senate.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
