1507 Biomedical Engineering

GENERAL INFORMATION
Biomedical Engineering is an interdiscipliner field which benetifs engineering principles to control, modify or understand of biological systems.

Objective
To educate engineers that could identify problems in biological systems and use the latest technological and cognitive methods via engineering principles.


Admission Requirements
To have a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering and to have obtained at least 60 points from the Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES), which is conducted centrally by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).

Graduation Requirements
To complete the course load of 21 credits with at least 3.00 / 4.00 GPA average, to give at least one research seminar and to prepare a Master's thesis and defend it successfully.

Career Opportunties
Universities, research and development institutes, hospitals, manufacturers of biomedical devices, maintenance, repair and development of biomedical devices.

1Sufficient background in Mathematics, Science and Biomedical Engineering and ability to use theoretical and practical knowledge in these areas in engineering solutions.
2Ability to identify, define, formulate and solve complex engineering problems; ability to select and apply appropriate analytical methods and modeling techniques for this purpose.
3Ability to analyze a system, system component or process and design under realistic constraints to meet the desired requirements; ability to apply modern design methods in this respect.
4Ability to select and use modern techniques and tools required for engineering applications; ability to use information technologies effectively.
5Ability to design experiments, conduct experiments, collect data, analyze and interpret the results.
6Ability to access information and to do resource research for this purpose, ability to use databases and other information sources, knowledge of computer software and hardware required by this field.
7Ability to work effectively individually and in multi-disciplinary teams, confidence in taking responsibility, ability to complete a job and taking responsibility in producing solutions in possible complex situations.
8Sufficient knowledge of foreign languages to be able to follow and use the information in his / her field and communicate with colleagues.
