2267 FRENCH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE

GENERAL INFORMATION
The MA Programme of French Language and Literature involves the past and present studies in the field of French language and literature. The works of drama, poetry and novel in French literature are scrutinized from the perspective of a certain critical point of view and are discussed under the light of new perspectives.

Objective
The purpose of this programme is to have the graduate students acquire skills to form authentic ideas in accordance with scientific rules. The courses in the programme include an advanced theoretical, social, historical and cultural analysis of different types of French literature. For this reason the programme internalizes interdisciplinary approach. Together with French Language and Literature, the program also includes subjects from Comparative Literature, Literary theory and criticism, cultural studies and cultural theories.

Master’s Degree

Graduation Requirements
A student must complete the required course load (21 PAU credits) with a CGPA of at least 3.00/4.00; present a research seminar and successfully prepare and defend a thesis.

Career Opportunties
Graduate students have the opportunity to work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, banks, tourism firms, in various schools as language teachers.
