GENERAL INFORMATION
The undergraduate (Bachelor's Degree) programme in TOURISM GUIDANCE (First Cycle in QF-EHEA and 6th level in TYYÇ-NQF-HETR ) is an academically-oriented programme giving access to degree and non-degree research programs and professional practice which both provide and demandi a high levels of knowledge and skills. The classification of the program with respect to "ISCED (The International Standard Classification of Education) 2011" and "NQF-HETR (The Turkish Qualifications Framework for HE)" and the codes of the fields of education can be listed as follows:: • ISCED Field of Education: 81 – Personal Services • ISCED 2011 Level: 6, Orientation (Profile): 64, Subcategory: 645 - Academically-oriented "first cycle", bachelor's degree • NQF-HETR Field of Education: 81 – Personal Services • NQF-HETR Profile of Education: Academically-oriented "first cycle", bachelor's degree.

Objective
The graduates of this programme are expected: to understand the problems which are faced in the sector and developing practically solutions to those problems comprehend basic concepts, cases, phenomenon about Tourism, Travel Management, and Tourism Guiding. to acheive a high level of analytical thinking, critical thinking, and analytical thinking skills. to create a scientific research project which demonstrates the evaluation and presentation of both quantitative and qualitative research and data. to obtain general knowledge and skills about travel agencies and tour operators. to perform valuable customer service skills, effective delivery of excellent customer service, and how to apply it to tourism professions to ensure the highest level of visitor satisfaction. to use basic business information and terminology. to acquire a knowledge of the alternative tourism areas and recognize cultural differences, and how to understand and communicate effectively with different cultures to achieve common goals and avoid unnecessary conflicts. to analyze travel businesses’ operating costs and have the competence to prepare tour plans and calculate tour costs.

Graduation Requirements
For graduation, it is required to pass all courses in the program (240 ECTS), have a GPA of at least 2.00 and complete 60 work-days of internship in tourism enterprises.

Middle or upper level managerial positions in various tourism establishments 6. Academic career opportunity for successful students 7. An opportunity of working as a vocational teacher at tourism related secondary schools who have a Master's degree in Educational Sciences.

Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate studies can study in post-graduate programs provided that they receive valid grades from ALES and have sufficient knowledge of English.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Understand and apply national and international law, regulations and professional standards related to tourist guiding.
2Have an understanding of the structure of the tourism industry, how it functions, and its significance for the development of the country.
3To understand the constitution of socio economics of tourism and comprehend the importance of it within the context of this constitution. With this constitution, to have enough knowledge and consciousness about the subjects like occupational safety, employee safety, social security rights, quality control and management, protecting natural and cultural enviroment all of which are required by society.
4Have detailed knowledge of the geography of both the World and the Turkey.
5To be able to occupy satisfying knowledge in the fields that tourism industry requires such as human relations and behaviours.
6Plan, implement and control a tour.
7To be able to possess the skill of working in teams.
8To be able to use a foreign language sufficiently to keep up with the current issues and scientific researches in the field of tourism

TEACHING & LEARNING METHODS

LecturingLecturing is one of the methods that come first, where the teacher is in the center. It is a method where the teacher actively describes topics and the students are passive listeners. With this method, lesson proceeds in the form of report, description and explanation.
DebateDepending on the situation, debate is a tool that allows all students, or a specific portion of the class to participate in the lesson. In this method, members of the group discuss a topic by addressing the various points of view and discuss alternative opinions about problem-solving.
DemonstrationIn this method the teacher demonstrates, an experiment, test, in front of the class. And then assists students to do so too. Students learn not only by just by looking and watching, but also by taking part and participating. This method is usually applied when teaching skills.
