655 LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE

GENERAL INFORMATION
It was established with the approval of 04.02.2009 YÖK General Assembly as part of Department of Architecture and Design. There are a total of 5 academic staff consisting of 1 professor, 1 Associate Professor, 3 Doctor Teaching Members and 2 research assistants. During the four-year training program of the Department of Landscape Architecture; - Courses for planning, design, repair, protection, management and application, - Lessons for the presentation and use of structural and plant material, - Lessons for landscape techniques, - Natural and social sciences courses, - Complementary lessons, cultural lessons and elective lessons. At the end of the training period, the achievements of the students of Landscape Architecture are as follows: - Developing the ability to create functional and aesthetic solutions based on artistic / creative talent, logic and causal power in landscape planning and design studies in all scales with interaction between man and nature, - Efficient, analytical, technical, communication (speaking, writing, graphing and drawing) and consulting skills, - Ability to work independently, to be able to work as a landscape architect in the interdisciplinary design and planning teams, and to integrate together, - Having the ability to understand ecological, cultural, economic and land management issues in connection with the diversity of work needed for the public and private sectors, - Developing technological infrastructure to understand planning and design applications and their results has a structure that can sufficiently internalize new developments and have sufficient knowledge in the field of technical expertise (Computer Aided Design, Modeling Programs, Geographical Information Systems, Remote Sensing Technologies) .

Objective
The aim of landscape architecture undergraduate education is to have the knowledge and skills to create sustainable and ecological living spaces by preserving cultural and natural values, to adopt ethical values as a principle, to understand the importance of lifelong self-development and renewal, to think analytically and critically, and to train landscape architects to be qualified, talented, entrepreneurial and able to take responsibility, able to produce alternative solutions to the problems they face and who have the knowledge and skills to serve in the fields of landscape planning, landscape design, landscape restoration and landscape management.


Admission Requirements
It is a Higher Education Program which receives students with the Central Placement Examination and students are taken with Numerical MF-4 Score.

Graduation Requirements
To complete a total of 240 ECTS credits including mandatory and elective courses and internship studies defined in the curriculum and to provide the graduation grade average requirement stipulated under PAU Associate Degree-Undergraduate Education-Training Regulations.

Career Opportunties
Landscape Architects are receiving the Landscape Architecture by the KPSS exam and the Landscape Architects are working in the ministries and organizations such as Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs, Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning, Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, State Hydraulic Works, Land Registry Directorates, Directorates of Highways, Development Agencies, They work in many institutions like Iller Bank. They are also working in the private sector in architecture, engineering and contracting companies and branches, nurseries, large hotels, various entertainment centers and recreation areas. Most landscape architects graduated from various universities across the country find work in the first year they graduate and almost all of their graduates work in their own professions. Public awareness regarding the design and planning of outdoor spaces with a professional point of view in our country is increasing day by day and the demand for the graduates of the market of landscape architecture is increasing in this direction.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Access to Further Studies
Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate studies can study in post-graduate programs provided that they receive valid grades from ALES and have sufficient knowledge of English.
