Course Objective The aim of the course is to gain the knowledge related to the vision, basic approaches, characteristics and main principles of Turkish language teaching by getting familiar with its program; to organize activities and make evaluations by recognizing listening, speaking, reading, writing, visual reading and visual presenting areas of Turkish teaching in elementary education; to carry out a detailed analysis of teaching process according to constructivism; to enable the learners be aware of intertextual reading, text types, contemporary reading approaches, types of speech and writing; to conduct research related to current methods and techniques used in elementary classes (grades 1-5) while teaching Turkish; to raise awareness related to academic studies by reviewing the literature on teaching Turkish in elementary education, and to identify new research titles; to create a research draft using the titles identified and to give a start to scientific studies.
Course Content Evaluation of Foreign mother language programs (USA, UK, France, Germany, Japan, China etc.). Designing draft programs considering aim, materials, content, teaching and evaluation, preparation case studies, practices for Turkish.
