Course Objective The main aim of this course is to develop learners’ understanding of the standards and process skills related to mathematics and science in early childhood education, to explain contemporary approaches to early childhood mathematics and science education, to improve their knowledge and skills to evaluate and criticize research studies related to mathematics and science in early childhood education.
Course Content Investigation of the development of mathematical thinking at early childhood period. Discussion of the effects of socio-cultural factors on the development of mathematical knowledge at early childhood period in accordance with scientific studies. Investigation mathematical interventions and designing interventions, comparing standards related to mathematics and science education. Investigation of scientific study methods of mathematics and science learning at early childhood period.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
