Course Objective The aim of this course is to analyze the relation between education and philosophy in the context of the concept content and fields of philosophy.
Course Content Religion, science, philosophy relationship. Philosophy and education relationship. The philosophy of Education as a science. The place and role of philosophy in forming the aims of education. Curriculum design models and educational philosophy in education: subject-centered design - learner-centered design - problem-centered design. Curriculum elements and philosophy of education: target - content - educational situations - test situations and educational philosophy. The relationship between school and life. Critical pedagogy: Ivan Illich - Paulo Freire - Peter Mclaren. Philosophical foundations of Turkish national education.
