Course Objective To understand the importance of music education. To understand the contribution of music to children in primary school. Having information about music programs. To be aware of local and universal values on effective music lesson.
Course Content The place and importance of music in primary school age. Music media tools and equipment in primary school. Music teacher characteristics at primary school and pedagogic knowledge level. Associating with music and other lessons. Contribution of music to thinking, learning and creativity. Examination of primary school music lesson curriculum and philosophical approach. Curriculum development models in education and music education. Editing educational status in music education. Evaluation of the music lesson. Approaches from history to present in music teaching. Kodaly, Dalcroze, Suzuki, Orff schulwerk. Music teaching methods.
