Course Objective The main purpose of this course; to train individuals who can design a program in a subject area, who understand the approaches-models and processes of curriculum development in art education and the relations between them, and to examine the curriculum prepared for the relevant field.
Course Content This course introduces curriculum development and evaluation approaches in art education. The art curriculum developed in our country and in the world; Analyzing with a critical point of view by considering planning, practice and evaluation stages, elements affecting art curriculum design; determining teaching goals, designing teaching, developing assessment tools; It focuses on the evaluation of innovations in field research on a program basis and the development of skills for the improvement of arts education programs.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Will be able to understand the basic elements of curriculum construction ( intent, content, organization, and management).
2Will be able to comprehand national learning standards in the visual arts and the various art competencies required.
3Will be able to know the contemporary approaches to art curriculum development and their historical antecedents.
4Will be able to explain the various theories of learning and conceptions of knowledge, and how they relate to curricular development in art.
5Will be able to know the approaches to assessing the knowledge and competencies required in an art curriculum
6Will be able to evaluate the ways to effectively integrate art education with other school subjects.
7Will be able to use the print and online resources that support art curriculum development and implementation.
