Course Objective The aim of this course is to examine of past and present research in art education, an introduction to general methods of research, and critical evaluation of research in art education.
Course Content This course introduces students to the theory and practice of arts-based research. Different methodologies such as A/R/Tography, Autoethnography, arts-based educational research and artistic research are presented and discussed. Students are given the opportunity to design and conduct an art and education project that demonstrates their understanding of the meaning of art in qualitative research and how it communicates. In this way, it focuses on the development of visual and artistic data collection, analysis and editing skills.
