Course Objective TThe main aim of this course is to develop learners’ understanding of philosophy, basic designs and approaches, data collection and analysis methods of qualitative and quantitative research paradigms; and to improve their knowledge skills to evaluate and criticize mix research studies. At the end of the process, the course involves empowering learners to foster an aspiration to design a mix method research, accomplish the results as a portfolio, and present their research proposal.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Develop an insight into paradigm shift from quantitative to qualitative research
2Develop an insight into the designs of qualitative research
3Develop an insight into the mix research models, enrich their theoretical knowledge and understand the importance of mix methods in science education
4Understand the importance relability, validity and ethical issues in qualitative research studies.
5Develop basic professional skills - oral and written communication skills, collaboration skills, research (gathering information) skills, problem solving, creative thinking, critical thinking, adaptability, initiative and entrepreneurialism through the course
6Engage practices by taking steps to develop and implement a qualitative or mix research study including the process of definition and research the problem, determine possible solutions, development and implementation a plan, evaluation, reflection and improvement.
7Use scientific method and develop science process skills to design investigations, observe, interview, precord and evaluate data by using appropriate tools and instruments
