Course Objective The aim of this course is to have the nature and the basic components and stages of algebraic thinking grasped and besides, to have various concepts of algebra modeled in the light of different representations and to have them reach mathematical abstractions.
Course Content Definition of Algebra. Stages of development of algebra in historical process and the relationship between these stages and their components in the related literature. Different meanings of the numbers which are represented as letters. Investigating the algebraic expressions by various models and abstract implications of these investigations. The most common misconceptions of the concept of algebra and solution offers. The preparations and implementations of lesson plans which are about teaching of the concepts of algebra
