Course Objective Aim to introduce basic knowledge about the word of living things and events, cell structure and genetic materials.
Course Content Cell structure and organelles. Phospholipids, aminoacids and proteins, nucleotides and nucleic acids. Transport mechanisms: active and passive transports, osmosis. pH and buffers. Feedback control. Enzymes and coenzymes: glycolysis and Krebs cycle, oxidative phosphorylation, chemical energy production. Genetic coding: replication, transcription (mRNA synthesis) and translation (protein synthesis), post-translational modifications.
