Course Objective Stem cell concept, stem cell types, isolations, stem cell clinical applications, gene therapy applications, gene therapy options and ethical discussions and legal regulations related to this subject are aimed to be examined.
Course Content Stem cell concept, stem cell types and sources, obtaining and reproducing embryonic stem cells, differentiation and clinical applications of embryonic stem cells, usage areas of differentiated stem cells, basic genetic modification options required for gene therapy, examination of scientific studies on stem cell treatments, stem cell studies and ethical approaches in our country and in the world.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Have information about stem cell definition, types and sources.
2Learn stem cell isolation and characterization.
3Have knowledge about the differentiation and self-renewal capacities of embryonic stem cells and the usage areas of differentiated stem cells.
4Recognizes the necessary gene cloning tools for gene therapy methods.
5Have knowledge and discuss about the ethical and legal regulations about the production and therapeutic use of stem cells.
6They can examine scientific studies on the therapeutic use of stem cells and discuss stem cell policies.
