Understand the calculus of vectors and tensors. Understand the kinematics of continuous media in Lagrangian and Eulerian frames. Enhanced understanding of conservation laws in continuous fluids. Understand the basic concepts of fluid dynamics

• Basic concepts of fluid dynamic, continuum hypothesis • Calculus of vectors and tensors • Kinematics of continuous media in Lagrangian and Eulerian frames and constitutive relations in both frames • Basic PDE’s of fluid dynamics • Exact solutions of incompressible flows • Boundary layer theory and similarity solutions • Instabilities • Perturbation theory and its applications in fluid dynamics • Turbulence
