Course Content Chirality and optical isomerism, D-L and R-S notational systems, Fisher projection, Stereoisomerism, threo and erythro stereoisomeric forms. geometric isomerism, mezzo compounds, properties of diasteroisomers.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1It provides students with knowledge about Chirality, Molecular Structure, Isomers, Enantiomers, Symmetry Plane and Mirror Image, Optical Activity, Diastereomers, Stereoisomers and L Symbols, R and S Symbols, α and β Symbols in organic compounds.
2Understands Axial and Equatorial Positions, Endo and Exo Identification, Erythro and Treo Identification, Syn and Anti Identification, Cis and Trans Identification, E and Z identification in organic compounds.
3Gain basic knowledge on Control of Stereochemistry, Asymmetric Synthesis with Chiral Substrates, Conformational Analysis with NMR Spectroscopy.
