Course Objective Giving the main concepts of pyroclastic rocks to understand the origin of pyroclastic deposits Explaining stratigraphic relationships and some tectonic setting of pyroclastic rocks
Course Content Volcanoes, volcanic rocks and magma chambers, magmatic volatiles, volcanic activity ve eruption types, pyroclastic fragments and deposits, pyroclastic flow deposits, deposits of hydroclastic eruptions, lahars, alteration of volcanic glass, stratigraphic problems of pyroclastic rocks, pyroclastic rocks and tectonic environment.
