Course Objective To give information about importance of probability and statistics at structural design and to provide information about fundamental principles of reliability analysis of structural systems and reliability based structural design.
Course Content Introduction to Risk and Reliability, Fundementals of Probability and Statistics, Probability Distributions, Definition of Seismic Hazard for Reliability Analysis, Basic Formulation of Reliability Problem, System Reliability, Probabilistic Calculations, Bayesian Approach for Estimation, Recent Developments in Reliability Based Seismic Design Codes, Civil Engineering Applications: Statistical Evaluation of Loads, Seismic Hazard Analysis, Earthquake Insurance.
