Course Objective To teach main principles of Airport Design and management.
Course Content Planning approaches and basic elements of airport planning. Estimation and analysis of passenger demand. Aircraft characteristics related to airport design. Effect of aircraft performance on runway length. Airport site selection. Factors influencing site selection. Airport configuration and geometric design of landing area. Airport capacity. Airport design standards. Runways. Relation of terminal and runways.Taxiways. Aprons. Planning of terminal. Air traffic control. Structural design of airport pavements. Airport drainage. Environmental and economic evaluation of airports. .
