COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Doctorate Degree
Course Type Elective
Course Objective It is aimed to design the processes that the parts forming the product will go through in production according to cost, quality and time factors. Design principle suitable for manufacture; designing products or components that are easily assembled, easily fed, manually or automatically, reducing the number of parts in the assembly, optimizing the mobility of the parts, improving quality - efficiency and reducing the cost of assembly, optimizing the traceability of the parts and assembly.
Course Content Product part design, design for manufacture and assembly, design for cost and quality, design for disassembly.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1To learn the effect of product design on the manufacture process.
2To learn the contribution of product part design to efficiency.
3To provide simplification of the product structure for design suitable for production.
4To learn the design development methods suitable for assembly (Boothroyd - Dewhurst Method, Hitachi method, Lucas method and IPA Stuttgart method).
5To recognize the possibilities and difficulties that may be encountered in the improvement of a Manufacturing System.
