Course Objective Membrane science and technology, transport mechanisms in membranes, module and process types of membranes and the usage areas in water and wastewater treatment of them are aimed to teach to the students.
Course Content Introduction to membrane technology, types of membranes, membrane transport theory, types of membrane modules, concentration polarization, fouling, microfiltration, ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, gas separation, pervaporation, electrodialysis, liquid membranes, membrane bioreactors, laboratory, pilot and real scale membrane applications in environmental engineering.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

1To provide detailed information about membrane processes and using purposes in Environmental Engineering
2To assess the data gained from experimental research studies conducted regarding membrane processes and to benefit from them

4To track issues and technologies about membrane systems, to assess them and to gain interpreting skills
