Course Objective	To inform about importance of wastewater treatment, selection of treatment plant, process problems encountered and needed precautions.
Course Content	The content of the course consists of the wastewater components, sources and flowrates, wastewater characterization, physical treatment processes, biological treatment alternatives, plant operation problems and measures to be taken.

1	Defines the general characteristics of wastewater.
2	Compares the basic physical and biological treatment options for wastewater treatment.

5	Solve fundemantal engineering problems related to the operation of wastewater treatment plants.
6	Learns to plant layout and maintenance.
