Course Objective To teach disinfection process in addition to undergraduate knowledge. To design disinfection process.
Course Content Disinfection and related definitions, disinfection alternatives, mechanisms, by-products, regulations, effects ofgvariations affecting disinfection, effectiveness of the disinfectants, disinfection kinetics and models, chemical and physical characteristics of disinfectants, halogens and disinfection, chlorination disinfection and by-products, chloramination disinfection&by-products, chlordioxide disinfection&by-products, Ozone disinfection&by-products, Ultraviolet disinfection, gelişmekte olan dezenfeksiyon sistemleri, Maturation ponds, Safety and occupational health considerations, Design of the facilities, Disinfection by products and their control, regulations, control of hazardous by-products, bromate formation and control, THM and HAA control methods, Measurement methods for disinfectans and by-products.
