Course Objective Proteomics cover the integration of a number of topics with the aim of analyzing the complete complement of proteins expressed by a biological system. This course will give a general understanding of the proteome, describe many of the different aspects of proteomics that have been developed recently, identify the technologic limitations related to proteomics, and will also include likely future directions for the field.
Course Content Proteomic Analysis by Two-Dimensional Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis, Mass Spectrometry: The Foundation of Proteomics Isotope Labeling in Quantitative Proteomics, Mass Spectrometric Characterization of Post-translational Modifications, Technologies for Large-Scale Proteomic Tandem Mass Spectrometry, Protein Fractionation Methods for Proteomics, Protein Localization by Cell Imaging, Characterization of Functional Protein Complex, Structural Proteomics by NMR, Protein Microarrays, Microfluidics-Based Proteome Analysis, Single Cell Proteomics, Diagnostic Proteomics, Automation in Proteomics, Bioinformatics Tools for Proteomics.
