Course Objective To give information about statistical techniques used in positive sciences.
Course Content Research planning, data collection and types of data; Design of tables and graphs. The calculation of descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation, standard error, median, minimum and maximum values); The introduction of Excel, Minitab and SPSS statistical programmes and their usage; The data types, how to collect and summarize these data with tables and graphs. The types of the statistical tests, hypothesis and how the accept or reject the hypothesis and type 1 and 2 errors; The calculation and obtaining the results via computer programmes and the interpretation of the results of Chi-square test, the regression and correlation analyses, t-test with matched unmatched samples; The calculation.
