Course Objective To explain the ecology of forest tree diseases and transferring this to disease management practices. To provide strategic approaches for the prevention and solution of forest diseases by using mathematical/statistical analysis and modeling.
Course Content Subject and content of epidemiology, increase and spread of plant diseases, characteristics of pathogen and host populations and their role in epidemic, environmental factors and the role of forestry practices in epidemic, disease prediction and damage assessment, introduction to quantitative analysis of epidemics, mathematical/statistical analysis, modeling of diseases , approaches, methods and programs used in modeling, creating disease risk maps based on modeling, forecast and earlywarning models.

1Comprehends the factors affecting the increase and spread of forest diseases and analyzes them quantitatively.
