Course Objective The purpose of this course is to study the contemporary literary theories and analyse literary texts of English and American literature from the perspective of contemporary literary criticism.
Course Content The historical, philosophical, political and social relations of cotemporary literary criticism will be analysed and examples of literary texts selected from English and American literatures will be analysed according to those critical theories.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1The students understand the contemporary literary criticism and analyse the selected literary works from the perspective of those theories.
2They study examples of literary texts selected from English and American literatures.
3They identify the differences between literary and critical theories and evaluate the texts from that perspective.
4They read and criticise poetry from the perspective of contemporary literary criticism.
5They write articles on the study of literary criticism
6They apply theories of criticism in poetry, novel and short story analyses.
