Course Objective In this course, language is considered as a belirlen social phenomenon “and it is aimed to determine the tight but complex relationship between language, society and culture. The manifestations of these changes in the Turkish world are also discussed.
Course Content Changes in political, social, cultural and economic fields in a society are reflected in each other. These kinds of changes that occur in society also manifest themselves in the language and make the language variable. For this reason, it is impossible to think of a society independent of language and language independent of society. When we look at the historical course of Turkish language, it is seen that language debates are marked by the Republican period. language debate begins with the Ottoman Empire in Turkey's modernization process, then the process continues with the nationalization of the Republic. As a result of this period, the discussions in Turkish were not based on linguistics, but rather on the political stance in the modernization process.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1LO:1 Hundreds of years of life and idea flows of Turkish Dialects and Literatures; all genres (poetry, novel, story, theater, etc.), literary periods and the historical, political, social, cultural factors, movements, communities, movements and gatherings around literary events; examines the general characters of the periods and the works of important writers as a whole with their causes and results.
2LO:2 Examines the texts of modern Turkish dialects and literature in a comparative way and provides new expansions in the light of modern literature methods.
3LO:3 Makes practical and analytical comments on any language related issues.
4LO:4 Acquires an extensive knowledge of the field and the scientific discipline to which student can contribute.
5LO:5 Can be in constant communication with the Turkish world. Can analyze and interpret contemporary Turkish dialects.
6LO:6 Researches the language, literature, art and life adventure of centuries of Turkish dialects and literature in depth.
7LO:7 Can deal with the fields of Turkish dialects and literature in which they are branched and spread, with all aspects, literary events, and outstanding works of the great language and literary men as a whole.
8LO:8 Throughout the undergraduate education, the student with a certain degree of expertise in the field of linguistics, classical and modern literature in postgraduate education increases student’s knowledge in the field.
9LO:9 Carry out an advanced study of the field independently
