Course Objective The aim of this course is to address the principles, methods and materials of art movements and trends that stand out in modern and postmodern (contemporary,) period in Turkey. It also discusses the relations between modern and postmodern arts with intellectual and social systems
Course Content This course includes the characteristics of art movements after the 20th century, evaluating the movements and artists who lead the contemporary art and interpreting the works of art. It deals with the characteristics, principles, methods and media that stand out in the art movement and trends in modern and postmodern (contemporary) period in Turkey. It also discusses the relation between modern and postmodern arts with intellectual and social systems.

1Students should describe the styles that took place in the 20th century and beyond.

4Student should analyze actual trends in art aesthetically and philosophically.
