Course Objective The aim of this course is to introduce that the burial customs of Anatolia, Greece and Italy during the Roman period and comparing with each region.
Course Content Introduced that the burial customs of Anatolia, Greece and Italy during the Roman period and comparing with each region. Informed that the types of sarcophagus and the shapes of burial for Early Roman period. Has examined that the differences between the regions, epitaphs, penalty of tombs and society of the tomb. Has analyzed that the funeral cortege and the tombs of the roman emperors according to the ancient writers. Has analyzed that the types and development of the sarcophagi and symbolism of tomb together subjects which depicted on the sarcophagi.
