Course Objective Learn the historical, especially the economic structures of Roman Imperial Period in Western Anatolia. Learn the Terra Sigillata produciton. Learn the production, typology, chronology, and style of Terra Sigillata in Anatolian ancient cities. Especially learn the Terra Sigillata productions of Western Anatolia.
Course Content The production centers of the ware called “terrasigillata”, its diffusion in Anatolia and its use will be discussed to be able to follow its periodical development. Detailed information will be given about the wares, types, sub-groups and workshops of western Anatolian cities. The interrelations with the production centers outside Anatolia will be in the extent of the lesson.

1Learn the historical, especially the economic structures of Late Hellenistic-Roman Imperial Periods.
2Learn the production, typology, chronology, and style of Terra Sigillata.
3Learn the researches and bibliography of Terra Sigillata
4Learn the Terra Sigillata production centers in Anatolia and make comparisons with production centers.
