Course Objective There is a lot of information about Islamic sects, beliefs and religious formations in the Islamic literature from the first period to the present. But how can be benefit from this information is an important problem in order to understand the sects and beliefs correctly. This is only possible by developing a correct method and using this method in research. The aim of the Method in the History of Islamic Sects is to teach the methods by which the researcher will obtain the information from the sources, how to distinguish the correct information and how to evaluate the information obtained.
Course Content An objective, researching, questioning and critical method of dealing with the information about the formation and beliefs of denominations. To evaluate the informations in the sources with historical, traditional, sociological, psychological etc. factors. To analyze beliefs with the connection of time-space, event and idea. To benefit from History, Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology, Semantic, Hermeneutical and Religions History etc. disciplines. Not to judge the sects on the contrary to be neutral about sects and their beliefs.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1The student gains knowledge of the methods of Islamic Sects History research and reading.
2The student learns to use the other fields like History, Sociology, Psychology, History of Religions in the History of Islamic Sects.
3The student knows how to use the literature of the History of Islamic Sects.
4The student comprehends correctly the views of the sects about belief principles .
5The student learns to approach the views of the sects from an objective perspective.
