Course Objective The aim of the course is to examine the significant cities of ancient Anatolian regions of Ionia, Lycia, Caria, Pisidia and Pamphylia.
Course Content The aim of the course is to examine the significant cities of ancient Anatolian regions of Ionia, Lycia, Caria, Pisidia and Pamphylia with their settlement types, strategically and economical characteristics.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Define concepts of city and village and know the first settlements and cities where started
2Know fundemental elements which constituted cities
3Know and research city plan beginning from Early Bronze Age
4Know Neolitic period settlements and know city features if there is
5Know the urbanization process from Early Bronze Age in the Anatolia and Near East
6Investigate important centers in respect to urbanization and city planning in second and first millenium B.C
