Course Objective To teach the basic concepts and definitions about multiculturalism and its teaching, to contribute to the development of students' knowledge levels about cultural differences and related phenomena. The aim is to critically analyze the events and phenomena on multiculturalism and education at the national and international level, and to develop the ability to produce appropriate solutions to the problems that arise in this area.
Course Content The Concept of Multiculturalism; Theoretical Approaches, Cultural Discussions; Globalization-Culture and Multiculturalism; Multicultural Societies and Forms of Pluralism; Majority and Pluralism in Multicultural Societies; Identity Policies in Multicultural Societies; Language, Religion and Sect in Multicultural Societies; Belonging and Representation in Multicultural Societies; Difference - Multiplicity and Equality; Multicultural Citizenship; Living Together in Multicultural Societies; A critical view of multiculturalism.
