Course Objective In this course, Students will learn basic concepts of test design: validity, reliability, practicality and backwash effect, etc.,various test types for the measurement and evaluation of English language learners, and they can construct tests for four language skills, grammar and vocabulary and do the evaluation of various tests: the analysis and scoring, etc.
Course Content In this course, assessing four language skills, grammar and vocabulary is covered. Preparing and evaluating tests designed to assess various skills do also constitute a major part of the course.

1Students know the concepts related to testing and evaluation in ELT.
2Students can construct test items depending on the techniques, methods and approaches based on the related learning theory.
3Students can prepare assessment tools for various purposes at different levels.

5Students know and can use alternative assessment instruments.
6Students can revise and reconstruct the existing testing instruments.
7Students can have assessment and evaluation based on the actual performances of the pupils.
8Students know and can use various assessment techniques and instruments for each language skill.
