COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective In this course it is aimed to investigate the relationship between the developmental characteristics of the child and learning processes with adjustment according to different theoretical frameworks, to determine the adjustment problems that may arise depending on the developmental periods and to discuss how to deal with these problems.
Course Content 1. Considering the concepts of normality and abnormality from different perspectives, 2. Factors affecting development, learning and adjustment, 3. Development according to different developmental theories (Cognitive Development, Psychosocial Development, Psychosexual Development, Moral Development, Ecological Approach-Uri Bronfenbrenner, Development of Attachment, Young Early Maladaptive Schemas and Parenting Styles etc.), 4. Learning theories, principles and relationship with adjustment, 5. Ecological theory and adjustment, 6. Psychological well-being and adjustment, 7. Personality theories, personality disorders and adjustment, 8. Communication and adjustment, 9. Coping with certain risk situations and adjustment (neglect, abuse, attention deficit and hyperactivity, addiction, divorce, mourning, trauma).
